Because you're right if you can I can! Today I am feeling so grateful for this life I have. I have two healthy beautiful little girls who light up my life constantly, a husband who works hard, loves the Lord, and loves us to pieces. Most importantly though a God who knows me better than anyone and STILL loves me as flawed as I am. He is a loving Father and friend who always knows the way to my heart... and has given me so much, much more than I could even have imagined for myself...

Peanut got her first haircut and hated it! She would not sit still and even with a bribe she would not comply. Not sure if it was the lady that she didn't like or that a perfect stranger kept coming at her with a pair of shears!? Who knows, but she looks darling and this super short style highlights her chubby cheeks, which means they get pinched three times as much! (Doesn't she look thrilled)

That is what this girl has been giving me lately! I think it's that one day she woke up and decided she would be thirteen instead of five, and she knew EVERYTHING and I knew absolutely nothing. She is normally such a compliant sweet girl, and of course strong-willed but never really defiant. It seems like a day wouldn't go by without some argument or meltdown, and at the end of the day I was exhausted. After she would go to sleep I would go curl up next to her wishing we wouldn't have ended the day the way we did. Until I remembered this parenting CD that was given to me a few months back called, Love and Logic, "When Kids Drain Your Energy." by Jim Fay. I had a few hours the other day on the drive home from Tahoe to listen to it again and I'm so glad I did. I was dying laughing over the 8 different scenarios they gave for instance, What to do about begging in the store, and their Love and Logic one-liners are some of the best I've heard. For me I really wanted to be able to parent and discipline with a sense of humor, and at bedtime have energy and patience left over to feel good about the day. I'm still in a trial run with these techniques but am having good results so far, and thought I would share with all the other moms' out there who might be feeling a bit frustrated! I know it's been ages since i've been on here, but I have a couple of good excuses...shortly after my last post our hard drive crashed and we lost EVERYTHING! A year's worth of photos, all of our itunes, every document saved disappeared just like that. After that I think I just got out of the habit, and we've been a bit busy around here.
In May Josh and I took a trip to Maui...ALONE. The week leading up to the trip and the first night were very hard for me, but just knowing that my babies were safe and happy with our parents, and that God is in control eventually put me at ease. Trusting God with my family, especially my children has been my major lesson of faith lately.
Anyways, here are some photos of my baby Nomi. Hard to believe this one will be two years old in 10 days!!! She is such a gift to our family, and we are so grateful for her little life.

This is one of Naomi's MANY nicknames, and I honestly am surprised both of my girls even know what their real names are. They'll answer to most anything and that's the way we like it.
Lately this little toodles personality has been coming out like crazy, she's a bit of a pill, and quite entertaining...Last night after dinner I let them play in the backyard for awhile. When it was bathtime I took Naomi inside to change her diaper and turned around to start the bath, well when I turned back around to put her in she was gone. Now Naomi without a diaper on around the house is dangerous, so needless to say I was flying around the house looking for the kid. I didn't think to look outside, but when I did this is what I saw...bugs in her birthday suit. Good Lord! I just loooove that belly!

So, today me and emma went on a date for haircuts. We were both in desperate shape being that it was 10 months ago when I last had my hair done and for Emma, who knows how long? We had so much fun together, the pair of us. I just love her and am so glad she is mine.
I always tell her about how before she was born, I prayed and talked to God about what I would like my little girl to be like. I definetely wanted a cuddly baby, sweet spirited and sensitive, smart, compassionate, and yes strong-willed. She is all of these things and my delight...an answer to my prayers and I am most thankful that God chose to entrust her to me. Can you tell that I adore the kid?

Things I'm looking forward to...

1. Our 7 year anniversay coming up on February 17th!!! I am quite grateful to our Lord for seeing us through the first seven years. It hasn't been easy, but we've come so far, and I love this man with all my heart!!

2. Our 18 month plan to become debt free!! It won't be easy, that's a fact, but I just know it will be sooo worth it :)

3. SPRING! Warm weather, sunshine, longer days, sunshine, warm weather!

4. My new family photo wall! I don't have it completed yet, still waiting for more of sister's fabulous prints from the printer!

5. FINALLY...my sewing lessons which begin on March 6th! 2 hours a week to myself, without interruption, it's BEYOND my wildest dreams! (So, Andrea get some too, and we'll start our own children's clothing line in Hawaii!)

So since my camera battery is dead I decided to post some oldies, but to be honest Maui is where my head has been lately anyway. I can't help it, especially since its been raining and cold here everyday for what seems like the last two weeks! I really am not complaining, I just prefer tropical paradise, warm weather and the ocean. (but who doesn't?)
Here in the first photos Emma had a hula lesson at our hotel and was a total natural. It was so cute to watch especially when Naomi tried to join in with her and the other girls. These last ones here are of the girls playing in the grass in front of our hotel room. We had the perfect room on the bottom floor with tons of space for the kids to run around. I was just praying throughout the week there wouldn't be a TSUNAMI! Cause we would've been hosed...literally!

The girls loooved Maui, & I know Emma appreciated the fact that she didn't have to wear much clothing, or shoes for that matter. She hates layers and the shoe/sock combo nearly sends her over the edge some mornings. So, needless to say she was a happy girl in the wardrobe department.
Sweet Naomi, our little hula pie! She really did love this little get up, we literally had strangers walking by wanting to take pictures of her, like she was a tourist attraction. Anyway, she didnt mind and is really starting to become a little ham. (wonder where she gets that;>)

FINALLY!!! I tried to post these pictures in Maui!! Blogger has been pretty stubborn, but here they are...our first day at the beach. This is actually right in front of our hotel, and in my opinion the best beach on Maui, especially for the little ones!
We seriously had an amazing time, surfing, spending time together and watching our girls fall in love with our Maui too! Someday (hopefully soon) we'll live here! more pictures to come...

So much fun at the pumpkin farm! There is almost nothing better than watching my husband be a father to our girls, and seeing them enjoy this place like I always do is so sweet! We carved that ginormous pumpkin you see Josh and Emma bringing back from the patch, and have started putting out a few fall decorations... love these traditions that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

I've got travel on the brain, so its a good thing I'm leaving for Maui in less than 2 weeks! 10 days in paradise what could be more relaxing? We are staying at a great resort, and I am soooo looking forward to it! Please do say a prayer for us though, that everyone stays healthy! Our last vacation we planned to take in Cancun had to be cancelled because Naomi came down with an unexplainable 104 degree fever:<
Well Fall has definetely arrived here in sunny California! There is a slight chill in the air and we've planned our first trip to the pumpkin farm on Monday. I do love this time of year, but I am sad that summer is already over. The warm weather suits me best, good thng (hopefully) I'll be soaking up the sun in less than 10 days! Maui here we come...and some day soon...ROME!!

Lately I've been thinking about my Emma and how fast she is growing ( a little too fast in my opinion) I so wish I could keep her little a little longer. The girl is 4 1/2 and it literally seems like yesterday I took this video, she was only two with her cute pageboy haircut and those fancy dance moves that just keep getting fancier. Happy 1st birthday Naomi!!!
It was actually on the 14th of July, and we had her party on the 11th. It was such a great day with our family and friends there, My sister, the boys, Tamar and her kids were able to be there from Washington, and that made it all the more special! She is growing sooo fast, and we are so thankful for the precious gift that she is to our family. Love you Nomi bug! (aren't those sweet cheeks?)

Happy Birthday to my girl!
I haven't blogged in ages, mostly due to laziness but I wanted post a few photos of my growing girls! Aren't they sweet? Emma turned four on the 5th of April, and had a very happy birthday. Where does the time go? It seems like only yesterday she was having her 1st birthday!
Oh yeah, and we do get to take Naomi to Cancun! We've planned a Mayan ruin excursion and I could not be more excited! I am so into history, and archaeology, and feeling like a BIG nerd for just revealing that, but that's who I am...a history channel fiend.
Anyway, also feeling a bit guilty for leaving Emma behind. I DO NOT like to leave my kids. Period. I miss them after an hour away at dinner with my husband! This will be really hard for me so please remember me in your prayers!

Cancun Baby...maybe?
Josh and I got a call last night from his boss to let us know that they had chosen to give us an all expenses paid trip to cancun! Sooo exciting especially since lately i've just been dying to get on a plane and go somewhere foreign, but there may be a hitch in this giddyup. We may not be able to bring Naomi, and I cannot leave her, she is still nursing like a newborn. Unless Andrea would be willing to...ha!(i'm totally kidding)i would never.

Just getting ready for Emma's 4th birthday. Cannot even believe that she is already 4, where does the time go? Anyway...her actual birthday is on thursday and for her birthday dinner she chose meatloaf and mashed potatoes with carrots. How funny is that, not pizza, not McDonald's, the kid actually wants meatloaf. Well, whatever she wants...here are some pictures of the baby lovebug and emma's signature dance move she always does. My little sunflower...
The weather has been heaven lately, I think spring has definetely arrived! We have been taking advantage of our new backyard that we had put in last fall, and loving every minute of it. There is just something about the warmer weather and the sun that makes everybody in our family happier. Also my Dad has been coming over in the evenings after work to build Emma and Nomi a swingset (such a good grandpa!) Its been really great having him around more, Emma just loves hanging out with him and "helping out." Not sure how much help she is, but I know he doesnt mind at all. This swingset is Emma's birthday gift from Mimi and Papa, Nana and Papa, and us. Her birthday isnt until April 5th, but anybody who knows me knows that I can never keep a gift a secret for long. Its just too exciting!

One of the first pages in my girls scrapbook...I had a lot of fun doing this, and I am proud to say that it came entirely out of my own head. Its not perfect, but I like it. Its bright and girly just like Emma.
This was Emmas first Harvest party when she was just over 2 years old, and danced the night away all hopped up on her first sprite. So cute. I'll never forget it.

I'll always remember the great times we had like our first trip to Tecate, Mexico, or sitting on your bedroom floor at Serena court listening to the blue Keith Green tape, and how your were my first real Christian friendship.

It's official...
my immune system finally surrendered! My kids have seriously been sick so much this winter, and I was just telling my chiropractor last week that I never get sick! I should know better because EVERY time I say that I get sick. This is why...Naomi has started giving these sweet kisses where she grabs your face with her kung fu grip and slobbers all over your mouth and nose. So special, but like I said I should know better. I have been having a little fun with it though. I have this really creepy low man voice, and I have been prank calling all my family members. Pretty mature, huh?

Baby girl said it! Da da, da da. Over and over, and of all places, Target. Sunday was the day, people, and Josh wasn't there to hear it. Poor guy. She has said mama a few times, but not like da da. It is so appropriate too, because she is such a daddy's girl! She just goes crazy everytime he walks in the door. I love that they already have such a special relationship. Sometimes if she is tired he is the only one who can calm her and get her to sleep (he's pretty proud of that fact too!)

Well, its my first post in about a month, all because I tripped over and broke my computer keyboard cord! I've been able to view all of your lovely Christmas' and New Years , but couldn't comment or blog myself!
For us it has been a great holiday, lots of family, and Naomi's first Christmas!! She is already 6 mos. old and really getting fun! Well its after midnight and I cant sleep, so I thought it would be the perfect time to blog! Here are some of the latest pics. I love having two girls so much. I can already tell their personalities will be pretty different, and they already love eachother so much! I think Josh and I have definetely been blessed! Oh yeah, and Emma wants curly hair so bad ( Im not sure exactly why) so I put her hair in rag curlers and lets just say she wasnt very happy with the end result! I believe her first words at the sight of her reflection were "I look weird!" She had school that morning so we just put it into a cute little pony tail, and she was happy!

Well, today is an awesome day! I had my bible study fellowship today, and God never ceases to amaze me! His love is so great, and His kindness always leads me to realize my wrongs and how much I need Him. We are studying Romans 5, and today I learned that there is NOTHING that I can do to earn or secure my salvation or eternal life! It is by simple faith or belief in the promise of God that we are saved! and listen to this! Even my faith is not perfect and is sometimes weak, but my salvation doesnt depend on the strength of my faith, but on Jesus Christs work on the Cross! If God saved us while we were His enemies, How much more now will he save us now that we are His family! I love you Lord! I am so thankful that I belong to You!:>

Here are a few of the latest pics of the girls, Naomi is sitting in her new "Bumbo" chair. I found this at Target yesterday and I love it, so does she! And Emma, everytime I do this (post a new picture) I am amazed at how fast she is growing, it honestly seems like yesterday that she was Naomi's age just learning to roll over, coo, and sit up. Emma wants to be a ballerina so bad, just like Genevieve and the 12 dancing princesses!

Well I just read Andrea's latest war story and had to post one of my own! Grocery shopping can be quite a headache, especially with my daughter who just started going through her terrible 3's. Everything she sees in the grocery store she asks for and thinks she can't live without, and when I say no, she throws her self on the floor screaming. Aaaah! So yesterday I was just getting out of Bel Air, with my sanity, and usually I hold Emma's hand in the parking lot, but beacause I had Naomi in my arms, I told her to hold on to the leg of my yoga pants. Well, Emma trips and pulls my pants down to the top of my thighs, and needless to say the teenage boy, and his mother behind us certainly got an eyeful! Motherhood can be so glamorous!

Here are some pictures of Nomi, snuggling daddy in the morning before work, and playing with me last night before bed. Isnt she sweet! I love this stage when they start to get really social. One smile and laugh makes all these sleepless nights so worth it! She actually is starting to sleep 3 hours straight instead of just 2, and it may not sound like much, but that one extra hour can make me feel like a new person in the morning. She's just such a little piggy, always wanting to eat!

Aah, I'm finally back, its been crazy lately. The girls got sick and it was round the clock motrin, tylenol, antibiotics, and lots of hugs. My poor babies! Well, I've got a few pics to post and here is my Emma doing the candy dance the morning after Halloween. She is probably still on a sugar rush from the night before. (What is it about sugar that turns kids into maniacs?) She was super cute in her sleeping beauty costume, and had a blast at the Harvest party. It ended up being an early night for both of the girls, (Naomi has an ear infection, and we wanted to get her out of the cold)

Happy Harvest! Today we made sugar cookies while Naomi took a 3 hour nap!!! That doesnt happen all the time, so it was fun getting to spend some one on one time with Emma.
